Different web developers use different technologies and different languages to develop their websites. Different technologies have advantages and dissadvantages (which I won't go into here). The languages used for most of my websites are HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, (the basic tools of any web developer), and Actionscript (2 & 3), Ruby on Rails, PHP, MySQL. Apart from Ruby on Rails, each of these web languages I have been using extensively since 2001.
